Christmas Carolyn Music: Ok Kyun Kang If Charles Dickens and Jacqueline Susann had a creative love child; and if that child could sing and dance it would be Christmas Carolyn, the campy backstage adaptation of the classic, Christmas Carol. Be the first to witness what promises to be the start of a brilliant writing career for NYU Musical Theatre writing graduate, and MSS Associate Artistic Director, Dan Marshall! It’s Christmas Eve in Deerfield, Iowa. the tired bus and truck company of ‘Sassy Lassy,’ the long running song and dance spectacular starring Carolyn DuMont, is stranded in a blizzard. Carolyn DuMont is the most hated woman in show business. Having just completed her 9,999th performance as ‘Sassy’, Ms. DuMont demands that her cast skip their Christmas Holiday for a much needed brush-up rehearsal. The cast members revolt, locking her in the theatre overnight. Trapped alone in the theatre, guided by two ghosts (and the spirit of Ethel Merman), Carolyn faces her demons and discovers the true meaning of showbiz…oh and Christmas too. Christmas Carolyn is an edition to Mercury Summer Stock's WINTER WONDER LAND activities. Due to adult language and subject matter, Christmas Carolyn is intended for mature audiences. No one under the age of 13 will be admitted. ALSO Winter Wonder Land Mercury Summer Stock's first Broadway Christmas album, just in time for the holidays! CD's are $12 if pre-ordered by August 21st ($15 regular price), and will be mailed to your home by Thanksgiving! All proceeds go to the continuing efforts of Mercury's MY FIRST MUSICAL PROGRAM.
